Future Generations Foundation Receives Renewed Commitment from lululemon to Support First Nations Learners and Communities
OTTAWA, ON – June 9, 2025 – The Future Generations Foundation (FG Foundation) is pleased to announce a continued commitment from the lululemon Centre for Social Impact. The company’s commitment will help increase access to financial support for First Nations individuals and communities.
Both FG Foundation and the lululemon Centre for Social Impact share a commitment to removing barriers and ensuring individuals and communities have the resources they need to succeed. FG Foundation provides funding for education, cultural learning, and training, and lululemon’s Centre for Social Impact focuses on physical, mental, and social wellbeing. For First Nations, cultural learning and teaching are deeply tied to social and mental health. This donation connects both organizations' efforts to advance wellbeing and overall health and to expand opportunities for First Nations individuals and communities.

The donation will help extend FG Foundation’s reach, providing additional grants for First Nations learners and supporting community-based initiatives focused on healing, cultural revitalization, and connection.

FG Foundation Grants $12.2 Million to 105 Organizations
The Future Generations Foundation (FG Foundation) is pleased to announce its 2025-2026 organization funding decisions. This year, the Board of Trustees has approved $12.2 million to support 105 organizations. This includes $11.1 Million from the Indian Residential School Settlement Agreement and $1.07 Million from our partners and donors.
During this funding cycle, a diverse range of communities and organizations applied for funding opportunities, with approved grants ranging from $22,000 to $200,000. These funds, which can extend up to five years, will support critical initiatives in First Nations communities, including education, healing and reconciliation, training certifications, and the preservation of cultural and traditional knowledge.
Since its inception, FG Foundation has awarded $71.9 million in funding to 910 organizations, helping to create lasting change for future generations.

Future Generations Foundation Executive Director Naomi Racette Named a 2025 Top 25 Women of Influence+ Recipient
OTTAWA ON —The Future Generations Foundation (FGF) proudly announces that its Executive Director, Naomi Racette, has been awarded the 2025 Top 25 Women of Influence+ Awards. This prestigious award celebrates outstanding women leaders across Canada who are making transformative contributions in their fields and communities.
Naomi Racette, a dedicated leader and advocate for First Nations Individuals and communities, has been instrumental in driving FGF’s mission to secure long-term funding and champion initiatives that foster Indigenous-led solutions. Under her leadership, FGF launched the Beyond Reconciliation Campaign, a groundbreaking initiative that elevates First Nations communities through sustainable investments and self-determined development.
“I am deeply honoured to receive this award and to be recognized among so many inspiring women,” said Racette. “The true recognition belongs to the resilient and inspiring First Nations communities and peoples I have had the privilege to work alongside. Future Generations Foundation Announces New Chair, Arnold Blackstar, and Thanks Outgoing Chair, Keith Martell
November 5, 2024 - Akwesasne, ON - The Future Generations Foundation is pleased to announce the appointment of Arnold Blackstar as the new Chair of the Board of Trustees. Mr. Blackstar brings extensive leadership experience, having served Indigenous communities through roles in higher education sector, youth development, nonprofit organizations, government sectors, as well as within the United Nations.
This appointment underscores the Future Generations Foundation’s commitment to strengthening our leadership and advancing our mission to support individuals and communities in addressing the long-term harms of the Indian Residential School System and to promote reconciliation. Mr. Blackstar’s expertise and insights will be invaluable as the Future Generations Foundation moves into this exciting new chapter.

His contributions have significantly advanced cultural and economic preservation for First Nations and future generations.
